The Problem Herbicides developed for use in peanut prior to 1996 have not been adequately tested on new varieties. Peanut breeding programs are very active and new varieties are being released every year. Can we assume that the herbicide tolerance of new peanut varieties is the same as those previously tested? Testing all varieties and all herbicides is probably impossible.
